Choose wall-hung if
You want maximum perceived floor space, a contemporary aesthetic, and easier floor cleaning underneath. Particularly suited to ensuites, cloakrooms, and minimal modern bathrooms. Requires a solid wall — stud walls need reinforcement.
Consider floor-standing if
You have a period property, prefer a more traditional silhouette, or your wall construction won't take the load. Floor-standing is structurally simpler to install and provides more visual weight in larger bathrooms.
