A Bristol Workshop. Four Ranges. One Standard.
Traditional Techniques,
Machine Precision
Every vanity unit we make is designed, built, finished, and assembled in our Bristol workshop. CNC where it earns its place, hand-work where it shows. No outsourcing, no flat-pack, no imported components. From the first cut of timber to the final coat of paint or stain, every step happens under our roof and under our watch.
Cory Mockridge · Workshop, Keynsham
The Maker
Cory Mockridge
"I learned the craft from my father, who learned it from his. Every vanity that leaves this workshop has my name on it because it has my hands on it. If it does not meet the standard, it does not ship. That is the only way I know how to work."
Cory is the third generation of Mockridges to work in furniture-making. Each unit that leaves the workshop is inspected and signed off by him personally before it ships. One workshop, one team, one standard.
The Build Process
From Timber to Doorstep
Every unit moves through the same four stages, whether painted or oak, sit-on or undermount, single or double. The process takes 4 to 6 weeks from order to delivery.
Timber Selection
Solid tulipwood for legs, end panels, and structural framing on painted ranges. Tulipwood is a tight, even-grained North American hardwood that holds detail beautifully and won't move in bathroom humidity. Drawer fronts and visible paneling use cabinet-grade moisture-resistant board engineered specifically for wet environments. Oak ranges use European oak across all visible surfaces, with grain selected panel to panel for visual consistency.
Precision Machining
Drawer front detailing is CNC-routed to a tolerance of 0.5mm. The Clifton's concave fluting, the Chester's beaded borders, the Reeded's edge-to-edge reeding, and the Kingsbridge's scalloped aprons are all machined from solid timber, not applied mouldings or vinyl wrap. After machining, every surface is hand-sanded to remove any tool marks before it moves to the spray booth or stain bench.
Finishing
Painted units receive two coats of high-build primer, hand-sanded between each coat, followed by two top coats of premium paint in your chosen Farrow & Ball colour. The spray booth is temperature and humidity controlled to ensure consistent adhesion. Oak units are hand-stained in your chosen tone, then sealed with a hardwax oil that bonds with the timber fibres to create a fully protected, breathable finish. Every finish, painted or oak, is built up by hand.
Assembly & Quality Check
Blum soft-close drawer runners are fitted and tested on every unit. Every drawer is opened and closed, every surface inspected, every joint checked. Units leave our workshop fully assembled and ready to install. Quartz worktops are pre-cut and polished to your unit dimensions and dispatched separately, ready to install on site. Nothing ships until it meets our standard.
Materials
What Goes Into Every Unit
The same materials, the same standards, across every range we make. Each one is sourced for performance, longevity, and the kind of finish you only get from honest components.
Solid Tulipwood
Legs, end panels, and structural framing on painted ranges are crafted from solid tulipwood. A North American hardwood prized by furniture makers for its workability, stability under paint, and ability to hold fine detail. Sourced from sustainable suppliers.
Real Oak Throughout
Oak ranges use European oak across every visible surface. Grain-matched panel to panel for consistency, hand-stained in your chosen tone, sealed with hardwax oil. The Kingsbridge is built in real oak throughout — frame, fronts, and even the drawer boxes.
Moisture-Resistant Cores
Drawer fronts, internal carcasses, and structural paneling use cabinet-grade moisture-resistant board. Engineered with a water-resistant resin core that prevents swelling, warping, and degradation in humid bathroom environments. Rated for long-term exposure to moisture.
Farrow & Ball Paint
Five curated colours as standard: Railings, Brinjal, Studio Green, Stiffkey Blue, and Elephants Breath. Applied in our temperature-controlled spray booth. Two primer coats and two top coats, each hand-sanded for a factory-smooth finish with depth and richness.
Blum Soft-Close Runners
Every drawer runs on Blum soft-close runners backed by a lifetime guarantee from Blum themselves. The global standard in drawer mechanisms, used by the world's leading kitchen and furniture manufacturers. Smooth, silent, guaranteed for life.
Engineered Quartz
Three worktop options: Pure White, Carrara Cashmere, and Calacatta Gold. Pre-cut to the exact dimensions of your unit, basin cutout pre-formed, polished, and dispatched separately ready to install. Heat-resistant, scratch-resistant, non-porous. No sealing required.
