Painted Finishes

Seeing the Colour
Before You Order

Five colours across the Clifton, Chester and Reeded ranges. Each one can be sampled directly, as a peel-and-stick swatch or a sample pot, so you can see it in your own bathroom light before you commit to a made-to-order vanity.

The paint we use

Our painted vanities are not finished in ordinary decorator's paint. A bathroom is the hardest room in a house for a painted surface, with steam, temperature swings and standing humidity working at the finish every day. We spray a specialist moisture-stable coating built to hold its colour and its film in exactly those conditions.

Why we point you to Farrow & Ball

Our five colours are matched to five Farrow & Ball shades. We do not sell their paint and we are not affiliated with them, but they sell samples of every colour directly, so it is the quickest way to hold the shade in your hand. Two options on their site: a peel-and-stick colour swatch, already painted and ready to move around the room, or a sample pot you brush onto card yourself.

One thing to expect

The colour will read true. The surface will not. Both a swatch and a brushed card dry flatter and rougher than a sprayed vanity door, which is smoother and holds more light. Judge the hue from the sample and take the finish quality on trust, or ask us for photographs of a sprayed door in the same colour.

The Five Colours

Each link opens that colour on farrow-ball.com, where you can order either a peel-and-stick swatch or a sample pot. Swatches are the faster route if you only want to judge the colour against your tile and lighting.

Farrow & Ball is a trademark of Farrow & Ball Ltd. Mockridge Design is not affiliated with, endorsed by or a stockist of Farrow & Ball, and we earn nothing from these links. They are here because ordering direct is the fastest way for you to see the colour. Samples are ordered from and fulfilled by Farrow & Ball on their own terms.

Considering Oak Instead?

Our stained oak finishes come as a sample box

Seven solid oak samples, cut and finished by hand in the same Bristol workshop as your vanity. Six stains plus a fluted profile sample, so you can judge grain, tone and shadow in your own light. Dispatched within one working day and credited back in full against your vanity order.
