Overview

This Privacy Policy describes how Mockridge Design (the "Site", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and discloses your personal information when you visit, use our services, or make a purchase from mockridgedesign.co.uk, or otherwise communicate with us (collectively, the "Services").

For the purposes of this policy, "you" and "your" means you as the user of the Services, whether you are a customer, website visitor, or another individual whose information we have collected pursuant to this Privacy Policy.

By using or accessing any of the Services, you agree to the collection, use, and disclosure of your information as described here. If you don't agree, please don't use the Services.

02

Information We Collect

The information we collect depends on how you interact with us. There are three main ways it reaches us.

Information you give us directly

  • Basic contact details: name, address, phone number, email.
  • Order information: billing address, shipping address, payment confirmation, email address, phone number.
  • Account information: username, password, security questions (if you create an account).
  • Shopping behaviour: items you view, put in your cart, or add to your wishlist.
  • Customer support communications: anything you choose to tell us in messages, emails, or contact form submissions.

Some features may require certain information. You can choose not to provide it, but you may not be able to use that feature as a result.

Information collected automatically

When you use our Site we may automatically collect usage data: how you access and use the Site, device information, browser information, your network connection, your IP address, and other technical information about your interaction with us. This is collected via cookies, pixels, and similar technologies (see section 04 below).

Information from third parties

We may receive information about you from:

  • Companies that support our Site, such as Shopify (our e-commerce platform).
  • Our payment processors, who handle your card or bank details to fulfil your order.
  • Tracking technologies on emails and advertisements (pixels, web beacons, SDKs, cookies).

Any information we obtain from third parties is treated in accordance with this Privacy Policy. We are not responsible for the policies or practices of those third parties.

03

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for four main purposes:

Providing the Services

Processing payments, fulfilling orders, sending order updates, managing your account, arranging shipping, handling returns and exchanges, enabling reviews.

Marketing & Advertising

Sending marketing communications by email, text, or postal mail, and showing you relevant advertisements. You can opt out of marketing at any time.

Security & Fraud Prevention

Detecting and investigating suspicious activity. If you suspect your account has been compromised, contact us immediately.

Customer Support

Responding to your questions and improving our Services. This is in our legitimate interests as a business serving customers.

04

Cookies

Like most websites, we use cookies. Cookies are small data files that remember your preferences, run analytics, and help us understand how the Site is used. We use them to power and improve the Site, including remembering your actions and preferences.

For the cookies specifically related to running our store on Shopify, see Shopify's cookie information.

We may also permit third parties to set cookies on our Site to better tailor services, products, and advertising — both on our Site and elsewhere.

Managing Cookies

Most browsers accept cookies by default. You can change your browser settings to remove or reject cookies, but doing so may break parts of the Site or cause certain features not to work. Blocking cookies may not completely prevent how we share information with advertising partners.

05

How We Share Your Information

We may share your personal information with third parties in the following circumstances:

  • Vendors and service providers who help us run our business — IT management, payment processing, data analytics, customer support, cloud storage, fulfilment and shipping.
  • Business and marketing partners, including Shopify, who provide services and help us advertise. They will use your information according to their own privacy notices.
  • When you direct us to, such as to ship you products, or when you use social media widgets or login integrations.
  • Within our corporate group, where applicable, in our legitimate business interests.
  • Legal and regulatory situations, such as responding to subpoenas, search warrants, or other legal obligations, enforcing our terms of service, or protecting our rights and the rights of our users.
  • Business transactions, such as a merger, acquisition, or bankruptcy.

Over the past 12 months we have disclosed identifiers (basic contact and order information), commercial information (records of purchases and shopping behaviour), and internet activity (usage data) to the categories of recipients listed above.

We also "sell" or "share" (as defined by certain privacy laws) personal information for advertising and marketing purposes. This is limited to business and marketing partners, and you can opt out at any time (see section 06).

We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information to infer characteristics about you.

06

Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the rights listed below. These rights are not absolute, may apply only in certain circumstances, and we may decline a request where permitted by law.

  • Right to access: request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Right to delete: request that we delete the personal information we maintain about you.
  • Right to correct: ask us to correct inaccurate personal information.
  • Right to portability: receive a copy of your data in a portable format and request transfer to another provider (in certain circumstances).
  • Right to opt out of sale, sharing, or targeted advertising: direct us not to "sell" or "share" your information or use it for targeted advertising. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we will treat that as an opt-out automatically.
  • Right to limit use of sensitive information: ask us to use sensitive personal information only as necessary to provide the goods or services you requested.
  • Right to restrict processing: ask us to stop or restrict our processing of your personal information.
  • Right to withdraw consent: where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time.
  • Right to appeal: if we decline a request, you can appeal our decision by replying directly to our denial.
  • Marketing preferences: opt out of promotional emails at any time using the unsubscribe link. We may still send essential emails about your orders and account.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in section 12. We may need to verify your identity before responding. You can also designate an authorised agent to make requests on your behalf — we'll need proof that they're authorised.

To restrict Shopify merchants from using your personal information for Shopify Audiences and similar ad services, visit privacy.shopify.com.

We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.

07

Security & Retention

We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information. No security measure is perfect, however, and we can't guarantee that information sent to us will be secure in transit. We recommend not using unsecured channels to send us sensitive or confidential information.

How long we keep your information depends on several factors: whether we need it to maintain your account, to provide the Services, to comply with legal obligations, to resolve disputes, or to enforce our policies and contracts.

08

Children's Data

Our Services are not intended for children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we'll delete it.

As of the date of this policy, we do not knowingly "share" or "sell" personal information of individuals under 16 years of age.

09

International Users

We may transfer, store, and process your personal information outside of the country in which you live, including the United States. Your information may also be handled by staff and third-party service providers in those countries.

Where we transfer personal information out of Europe or the UK, we rely on recognised transfer mechanisms such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or their UK equivalent — unless the destination country has been determined to provide an adequate level of protection.

10

Third-Party Sites & Links

Our Site may link to websites and platforms run by third parties. If you follow those links, you should review the privacy and security policies of those sites. We can't guarantee or take responsibility for the privacy or security of sites we don't control.

Information you share on third-party social platforms (or other public venues) may be viewable by other users of those platforms without limits on how it's used. Our inclusion of a link doesn't imply we endorse the linked site.

11

User-Generated Content

The Services may let you post product reviews and other content. Anything you post in a public area of the Services will be visible to anyone who visits the Site.

We don't control who sees publicly posted content and can't guarantee that others will respect your privacy or keep it secure. Please don't post anything you don't want to share publicly.

12

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time — to reflect changes in our practices, or for operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. When we do, we'll post the updated policy on the Site and change the "Last updated" date at the bottom of the page.

13

Contact & Complaints

For questions about our privacy practices, this policy, or to exercise any of the rights described in section 06, please get in touch.

If you have a complaint about how we process your personal information and you're not satisfied with our response, you can lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. In the UK, that's the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
